The children's author David Walliams parted ways with longtime publisher.

David Walliams

Acclaimed children's author and entertainer David Walliams is no longer with his publisher HarperCollins UK, the company has said.

An official for the firm said: "Upon deliberation, and with the guidance of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing any new titles by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the conclusion was made after an review of claims about conduct deemed unsuitable involving women.

The company did not confirm the specific rationale behind the move, adding: "We do not comment on private personnel issues."

A Highly Successful Publishing History

Walliams is one of the UK's most prolific writers for young readers, with sales exceeding more than 60 million copies worldwide in 55 languages.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins back in 2008.

Several of his books, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into small-screen adaptations.

He has published more than 40 books altogether, which features a holiday title named *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins in October.

A Dual Career

His career breakthrough occurred on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE several years ago honoring his contributions to philanthropic and artistic endeavors.

This development follows the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO in October.
